Not a bad choice at all. Kasich is a good candidate for VP, surprising he didn't make a stab at the president run this year.
Rule Thompson out. (sorry EV).
Rule Rudy out. He did nothing this cycle.
However, I think Michael Steele would be a helluva VP candidate, especially if Obama got the nod as Dem nominee.

As long as it isn't Joe Steele, we'll be alright.

I don't know much about Ohio politics, but didn't some scandal get attached to Michael Steele? Could certainly be bogus, of course, but I thought he'd been damaged somehow. Otherwise most of what I've heard about him has been quite good.

Steele's sister was married for a short while to one Mike Tyson. Perhaps you've heard of him?
Steele's controversies more or less amounted to gaffs. More of which is read into because he's a black Republican in an overwhelmingly Democratic state, with a disproportionate level of blacks to whites in the districts that count
All said and done, he's a remarkably intelligent man, and very well-spoken. I don't mean this as a "for a black guy, he's well spoken" line, but as a "damn, this guy is on the ball" line. Every time I've seen him interviewed, as well as the time in which I've met him, he comes across as well-spoken, articulate man who knows his facts.
Oh shit, Top Gun is on. Gotta split. ![]()

I find that a very niggardly thing to say, Turd.

Call me officially on the Sarah Palin bandwagon.
http://ace.mu.nu/archives/254203.php

"She's as Alaskan as you can get," says Dan Fagan, an Anchorage radio talk show host. "She's a hockey mom, she lives on a lake, she ice fishes, she snowmobiles, she hunts, she's an NRA member, she has a float plane, and her husband works for BP on the North Slope," Fagan says. Todd Palin, her high school sweetheart, is a three-time winner of the 2,000-mile Iron Dog snowmobile race from Wasilla to Nome to Fairbanks. It's the world's longest snowmobile race.
Governor Sarah Palin holds a salmon caught while setnetting with her family in the Bristol Bay region.

Gov. Palin grew up in Wasilla, where as star of her high school basketball team she got the nickname "Sarah Barracuda" for her fierce competitiveness. She led her underdog team to the state basketball championship. Palin also won the Miss Wasilla beauty contest, in which she was named Miss Congeniality, and went on to compete in the Miss Alaska pageant.

The wipeout in the 2006 election left Republicans in such a state of dejection that they've overlooked the one shining victory in which a Republican star was born. The triumph came in Alaska where Sarah Palin, a politician of eye-popping integrity, was elected governor. She is now the most popular governor in America, with an approval rating in the 90s, and probably the most popular public official in any state.
Her rise is a great (and rare) story of how adherence to principle--especially to transparency and accountability in government--can produce political success. And by the way, Palin is a conservative who only last month vetoed 13 percent of the state's proposed budget for capital projects. The cuts, the Anchorage Daily News said, "may be the biggest single-year line-item veto total in state history."

Now watch some numbnuts come in here and claim "yeah, but she's not qualified to be C-in-C".
To which I'd say, who's got the more impressive resume and credentials to be Commander in Chief -- her, or Barack Obama?

Easily in the 90s, I'd say.

The fact that she wears a dead cat around her neck is enough to make me want to call her my next ex-wife.

CAMP VIRGINIA, Kuwait – (July 25, 2007) Alaska Governor Sarah Palin shakes hands with members of Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 297th Inf. Regt. during her visit to Camp Virginia, Kuwait July 25. The Governor concluded her two-day trip with a tour and lunch at the camp as well as a tour of the Life Support Area- Kuwait Rapid Fielding Initiative facility.
This chick would be a fucking GOP rock star.
Btw, she's in VOGUE this month.
Ok, gotta go. Need to go to Publix. Buy some magazines, maybe.

I have never heard of her. I don't like the "hockey mom" thing. Reminds me too much of "soccer mom". I dont need banning of anything that might be dangerous to jr and so on. But Ill hold my judgment since most of you like her, so there must be a reason other than most of you thinking she is hot.

Hell, fuck being McCain's VP.
She should keep building her track record as Governor & wait until 2012 or 2016 and just take the whole thing.
