I have never heard of her. I don't like the "hockey mom" thing. Reminds me too much of "soccer mom". I dont need banning of anything that might be dangerous to jr and so on. But Ill hold my judgment since most of you like her, so there must be a reason other than most of you thinking she is hot.
Dude, its Alaska, and FWIW, still a wilderness. Like as in many towns are 4 hours+ from the closest cop. I seriously doubt a woman that proudly pursues big game animals and fish in the last wilderness in the US is going to be after banning nerf balls because junior can choke on them.

She won't be nearly as hot. Then there would be no reason to vote for her any longer.
Boo...
Plenty of reasons to vote for her.
Unless you were just being a sexist pig, in which case, praise.

That's her float plane in the background. The family does commercial fishing in Bristol Bay.
Her hubby's grandmother is Native American. Her son (right) just enlisted in the Army.
And she's a marathon runner.

Cripes, this is the perfect candidate. Tell me she has some sorta skeleton in her closet so I can sleep better.

Would hit it. Ballot and otherwise.

I just had a thought: would it make any sense for McCain to consider Michael Steele
if Clinton won the nomination?

Jonah Goldberg jumps on the bandwagon:
If we're consigned to choosing among Republicans for the Republican Veep (heh), I'm more and more keen on Sarah Palin. Yes, Yuval's right that the GOP won't beat the Democrats for excitement, but the GOP might excite particular constituencies. Palin is tackling the establishment in Alaska, including the oil and gas industry (much to the chagrin of some of my relatives!). She's attractive (former Ms. Alaska). She could get some real profile out of this polar bear lawsuit. She reinforces McCain's outsider-reformer-Western credentials. And, for the moderate soccer mom types who were all jazzed about Hillary being the first woman president, she might win a few suburbanite female swing-voters for the same reason
.

I'm just sayin.

Alaska is in the tank for the GOP.
Webb or Warner may be Obamas VP. They are gunning to take Virginia from the South. If that is the case, Michael Steele, who lost there last election to Jim Webb isnt going to do squat. Although I like him. He rocks, I wish he had won, he should keep at it in Virginia for a Congressional seat.
Kasich in Ohio seems to be the better play, especially if Webb runs as the VP. Michael Steele is a shoe in for the Webbs vacated seat, if that is how things go.

That's not the point.
How many battleground states is Kasich going to carry for McCain? One. If he's lucky. (btw, I like John Kasich a lot -- but has anyone confirmed he's even interested? Didn't he make a one-term & out pledge?)
I think if McCain makes a VP choice based solely on someone who its hoped will deliver some battleground state, his campaign will nosedive into a pile of epic fail.
The GOP needs to be thinking about generating excitement for the ticket (in a year where enthusiasm for Republicans is nil), GOTV, and giving Barry's weaker supporters ("security moms", disgruntled Hillary fans) a compelling alternative.

Makes sense.

Why the hell would McCain pick some tree hugger cereal brand as a running mate?

The mighty Allah weighs in (with a poll! and look who's leading!)

So why am I warming up to her? First because the GOP needs new faces, figuratively and literally, and as faces go you can scarcely do better than hers right now (figuratively and literally). Read Fred Barnes’s profile of her from last summer: She’s excellent on ethics, has experience with energy policy, and maintains balance on the environment, opposing the polar bear ruling but calling for reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Second, obviously, having her on the ticket would steal some of Obama’s media juice as the candidate with the Narrative versus the same old patrician Republican crap. And third, well, watch this. We’re not going to win the woman vote, but there are surely some Ferraros out there disgruntled enough about how Hillary was treated to give McCain/Palin a very close look. That’s why it’s silly, actually, to care how many electoral votes Alaska would deliver. Her appeal, unlike Crist’s or Ridge’s, has to do with who she is, not where she’s from. Who’s to say she wouldn’t help deliver Florida or Pennsylvania more than either of them?
Sarah-mentum, baby!!

The only problem with Sarah Palin is that, given McCain's marital record, he'd spend the entire campaign trying to tag her in the back the of Straight Talk Express.

Yeah, but he moves slow so she'll be able to get away.

And he'd need to call Sen Dole for a dose or two of Mycoxaphlopin.

Bumping this in the odd chance a couple of commenters over at the Draft Sarah Palin For VP blog (http://palinforvp.blogspot.com/) turn out to have the scoop...
Some dude notices via FlightAware that a chartered GulfStream IV arrived in Dayton tonight from (you guessed it), Anchorage, AK:

(see the 10:30PM entry by "sakaki")
Another dude ("drew") claiming insider knowledge strongly hints that Sarah's the one:

(see the 11:01PM entry by "drew")
Eh, who knows...
Fingers crossed...

Fox news is breaking a story that indicates that neither Romney nor Pawlenty are the choice.
Drudge and Real Politics are both suggesting Palin. A gulfstream from Anchorage arrived in Dayton overnight -- a woman and two teens were escorted from the plane into waiting unmarked white vans...
Palin would be a shocker...

McCain-MILF 2008 has a certain ring to it, I must admit.

Palin would help bring McCain all the "Biden is a sexist pig" votes.
