Explanation of Stimulus Check
An interesting Q&A session regarding the recent economic stimulus payments issued by Uncle Sam:
EXPLAINING THE ECONOMIC STIMULUS PAYMENTS
Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?
A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.
Q. Where will the government get this money?
A. From the taxpayers.
Q. So the government is gi ving me back my own money?
A: Only a smidgen.
Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is that you will use the money, for example, to
purchase a high-definition TV, thus stimulating the economy.
Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ?
A. Shut up.

Let me add my own astute comments...
Just like crack dealers and porn sellers both want to "demonstrate" their products for free in order to generate interest and future adicted persons (Oops, my bad, I mean "customers") the government has just sent out a sample welfare check for the same reason. "Try it. It isn't so bad. You'll like it. It will make you happy!"

sooo me walking down 8th ave to the porn shops is akin to me walking to a Bronx street street corner for a few vials of crack??
i also don't think I'd have much luck in either place getting freebies, esp. the 2nd location.
With the possible exception of things like box scores, race results, and stock market tabulations, there is no such thing as Objective Journalism. The phrase itself is a pompous contradiction in terms.

you don't have to tell me twice re: the porn. but i heard "porn sellers" and could only think of the porn shops.
