Okay, I've revisited this. The spin from TNY is that it's supposed to be satirizing the scare tactics that will be used by the right wing to scare voters away from Obama. So they put together a reactionary and arguably racist cover, and they actually find a way to blame it on the right.

When your enemies do not cooperate by acting like the caricatures you believe them to be I suppose it's time to beat them to it, somehow the blame for this will fall upon conservatives.
