Christians Belong to Kingdom of God, not U.S.

I am really disappointed in the Christian community being so secularized by acting and believing that living in this nation is a replacement for their primary citizen rights in the Kingdom of Heaven.  Everywhere you go there is not one single Christian flag seen on an automobile, in a home or anywhere else for that matter except in a few churches.  Yet the American flag is seen displayed everywhere by Christians.  It seems patriotism for a country has replaced loyalty and devotion to the Kingdom of Heaven and its King by Christians living in this nation.

Do not Christians realize they are to seek the Kingdom of Heaven first and then be interested in other things second?  When Christians get so patriotic they say I support America, right or wrong, or love America or leave it, this becomes a dangerous form of idolatry, placing a mere mortal, secular nation over an infinite, immortal and everlasting Kingdom.

Also I must find fault with Christians always saying ?God Bless America? when this nation is turning further and further away from the God who bought this country into existence.  How can they expect God to bless it when its citizens violate all of God?s laws and almost spit in His Face?  You will never hear me say ?God bless America? until it repents of its evil ways and turns back to Him.  In the interim I can only say ?God Save America?.

I used to be fiercely patriotic, but no more.  I have seen the ways of earthly governments and their leaders.  They neither care for God nor the people they serve.  It is always what is best for the ones who put them into office or compromise with evil to get their agenda accomplished.

As a Christian I hunger for the Kingdom of Heaven and its King.  I can?t wait for this kingdom and its King to arrive on earth while alive or my arriving up there through death.  When people say, ?love America or leave it?, my response to them is: ?Yes there is a Kingdom far better than the United States and a King more perfect than any earthly ruler and that is the Kingdom of Heaven and its King, the Lord Jesus Christ.  Draw me a boundary line placing the Kingdom of Heaven on one side and the United States on the other, and I will gladly leave the United States and enter the Kingdom of Heaven?.

Oh how beautiful that Kingdom and its King will be.  A Kingdom full of love, mercy real justice, righteousness, beauty and anything we want.  A King who will be the kindest and most loving monarch the world will ever see, untarnished and unblemished in any way.  Once again I can be patriotic, wear a uniform with pride and salute and bow before Him with absolute joy in my heart.

I just simply cannot understand why Christians want to stay here or anywhere else on this strife torn planet where there will be only temporary joy and fulfillment when they can be co-rulers and co-heirs in Heaven with the very Prince of Peace and Life Himself.

You will never see me with anything but a Christian flag on my car or in my house, because first and foremost I am a citizen of Heaven with only a Green Card saying I can be a resident in any other country on a temporary basis only.  I am proud of that Christian flag and the One who gave His life that we could display it and be sons and daughters of His.  The Stars and Stripes will not last forever, nor the United States of America either, but the Christian Flag and the Kingdom and King it represents will be from everlasting to everlasting.

Also how many Christians if Jesus walked into the room and asked them to give up everything at that very moment to go with Him to Heaven would really want to go?I fear very few if any because they value the things of earth more than being with their Master and residing in Heavenly places with Him.  I know if I had that experience there is absolutely nothing on earth that would cause me to stay.  I would say yes and begin a life of utter perfection, joy and total fulfillment, something I have never found nor or will ever find on earth.

The true essence of patriotism found in a Christian is his or her concern for the people and their problems in the country in which they live.  True patriotism is not about a flag, government or national leader; it is love of the people and seeing that they survive.  Maybe I do have a form of patriotism because I really care about the people of this country and what is happening to them, and I try to do something about it by being an activist.

However, as Christians we do have a responsibility in the places where we live to see to it morality, justice, mercy and love abound.  We should try to make those places  more like heaven by living a moral and upright life.  We should push for laws that bring true justice to the land and its inhabitants.  We should see to it the poor, needy and widow are always protected.  We should seek morality in all areas, not just a few.  We are to act and live wherever we are as if we were in Heaven itself, thus bringing it down to earth to enjoy for short periods of time and allowing others to get a glimpse of it as well so they may want it too by seeking salvation in Jesus Christ.

Therefore, Christians remember your primary citizenship is in heaven and not on earth.  Begin to act like it and stop glamorizing earthly things, kingdoms and worldly leaders.  SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD and then all other things will fit into place.

This is the first of a series of three apologetics addressing certain concerns I have in the Church today.

I'm glad the USA is turning away from religion, and towards rational thought, logic, and rigor.

A Christian has by definition, already sought out the Kingdom of God.
There is no shame in asking God to bless America, ....He blessed the nation of Isreal and it has never been perfect.
Jesus Himself said, "Render unto Ceasar the things which are Ceasars".   In my mind that includes patriotism to your country.

So if I understand your point, then patriotism is a reasonable thing to feel?  As long as you understand the seperation between God and country?

Exactly, I think Christ made that distinction, paying taxes to Rome as well as worship of the Father.
Also, the OT and NT is loaded with Isreali patriotism.
