firefox trouble

ok guys i got the damn firefox and it's giving me trouble.
keep in mind that i am not that computer savy.
i know how to use them but i don't know how they work.

so anyway i was having probs with ie and spyware so i thought i would use firefox.

well it doesn't seem to work with a certain vw website i need for work.
vwhub.com

it lets me on but login gets all fucked up and it won't operate the drop down menus.

i talked to a guy at vw about this (thinking mabye the vw hub is a ie specific site or some bullshit like that), he didn't have much to say other than if firefox doesn't work use ie.  neutral

any ideas ?

Re: firefox trouble

Don't use Firefox for that site, or really for anything important. It's too buggy and new.

Re: firefox trouble

It might be using Microsoft's JVM for some of the content like the login field and the drop downs. Nobody is still supposed to be using it since Sun won their case against MS, but there is still a lot of it out there. Since its proprietary, it won't work with Firefox.

I like Firefox and I use it at home, but like Dave said, its really not ready for the professional enterprise.

Re: firefox trouble

Making a website that only works in one browser/OS combo is stupid.

i'm not sure if it is, ff just won't do it.
it's a VoA site so that makes it stupid anyway.
